The chimney is removed, leaving the burning coals in contact with the unburned lump just added.
Note: I am not using a standard chamney starter, but an open bottomed piece of stovepipe sitting on the firebox ash grate in conjunction with a gas log lighter. To use a standard chimney starter, I recommend following the original Minion method.
